Now you can become a new member or renew your HCONS membership online. At the top of the website you will see a new menu item "Join HCONS". Select the HCONS Membership button.  Student memberships are also available for current nursing students.  (Fill out the form and you will then be directed to PayPal to pay you membership dues).  You will also have the option to "Auto Renew" your membership if you choose. Before your membership expires next year, you will be sent reminders to renew your HCONS membership. 

HCONS Membership requires the following:

  • Current ONS (National) Membership
  • Only registered nurses are eligible

 

Student Membership requires the following:

  • Current ONS (National) Student Membership
  • Students enrolled full time in a nursing program leading to eligibility for registered nurse licensure

Houston Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society
  Investigative Project Application for Funding

1.0 Purpose

The Houston Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society has a commitment to promote formal investigative nursing projects that affect oncology nursing practice and improve care for those at risk for or experiencing cancer and their families. The chapter has appropriated $ 2500 in funding annually to sponsor one project. The project may be a research, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice project and must have measurable outcomes.

2.0 Applications
Applications for funding requests and additional information about chapter project funding may be requested from the Chairperson of the Research Committee. Applications for funding requests will be accepted throughout the year, but a call for proposals will be issued in the summer. All proposals received by April 1 of a calendar year will be considered for funding in that year. Funding will be awarded in June.
